Maurten 320's pretty much got me through the recent Fred Whitton cycle sportive without having to spend too long at the feed ststions, It was the post event Inch's cider that made all the effort seem worthwhile though 👍

Love that, it really is like petrol fuel. It took me a while to comprehend the fact a drink of water could be 320 calories, mind!

Loved this! At Tracksmith we started using Maurten in our product shots around 2019, maybe? We had the same gels floating around the photo studio for years.

Love this. The gels are such an effective visual communicator as to utility of a product. And Maurten’s packaging must play a huge part, right, because they don’t look ugly in the photos?

Yeah, at the time they were more niche so it was about signaling the IFYKYK to serious runners and the streamlined look didn't hurt either.

Oh the idea of branded gel collabs is so interesting! I could say so much about the design of Maurten / adjacent brands... I recently worked on the branding for a supplement and it was much of the same sentiment.

Interesting! Would love to chat more on this. I guess visual similarity aligns in the way that people understand the vibe but it does mean everything is so samey. Most products on the snack aisles look the same now after the millennial brand boom, for eg.

Collab gels would also be an entry level price point right - cheaper than a cap or socks. Plus literally no one needs yet another co-brand water bottle!

Honestly, the sponsorship of Eliud cannot be overstated , everything trickled down from there

Look forward to seeing more competitors at the value end of the market - with a better carb to £ ratio. 🙏

As a fan of Minted’s menswear and performance clothes, and their content, I ordered some of their gels to see how they stack up. Excited to try them for this fall marathon training block.

So far so good. They came in Monday and worked as a pre run fuel with no issues. Texture is quite runny similar to a BPN Go Gel. (I have limited gel trials so I’m sure there are other brands with this.) 40g of carbs per gel though so excited to see how big of a difference that makes on long runs. I’ll check back in on Saturday.

Was this before or after walking five miles in the snow to school?

Congrats on being able to perform with minimal nutrition at the peak of your youth. The rest of us need fuel in our tanks.
